Welcome to Umroi Presbyterian Higher Secondary School
The Umroi Presbyterian Higher Secondary School as it came to be known today is a co-educational school. It was founded by Umroi Village Durbar in 1979 since there was no M.E. School in Umroi area at that time. The Foundation stone of the building for the M.E.School was laid down by Dr.B.Pakem, Education Minister on the 18th May 1982. The Village Dorbar handed over the Management of the School to the Umroi Presbyterian Church in 1983.

The Managing Committee then decided to establish a proceeding High School in the year 1985. In 1987 the Government had granted permission for the school to be upgraded to class –VIII From this humble beginning the School slowly and steadily marching forward. The Government sanction the Adhoc Grant in Aid and give permission to open classes IX and X. Since1985 it was known as Umroi Presbyterian Secondary school. The school was recognised by Meghalaya Board of Schools Education w.e.f. 01-08-2008. The Managing Committee also adopted a resolution to start the Higher Secondary Section in Arts stream from 2012.and on 06-06-2012 the School was up-graded to Class-XI & XII (Arts) and in 2014 the School was granted affiliation by Directorate of School Education and Literacy (DSEL).

The UmroiPresbyterian Higher Secondary School is an inclusive co-education school who are in Lower to Higher educational level. Our goal is tocommitted to quality education for the holistic development of all students,confident and responsible individuals who all aspire to achieve their full potential and toattaining excellence in their lives and make them worthy citizens of the state and the country as a whole.
